Citizen Readiness Program
The Citizen Readiness Program is for people who want useful skills and an honest standard. Start at the level you can demonstrate, then build from there.
Where to begin
Build the foundation first.
Equipment ownership does not establish skill. Fundamentals courses are the right starting point for new shooters and for experienced shooters who need to repair weak habits.
Intermediate and applied courses require the listed prerequisite or an OSS skills assessment.
Foundations
Go beyond the gun.
These courses cover safe handling, reliable operation, marksmanship, and a useful way to continue training.
Pistol Fundamentals
Safe handling, equipment setup, loading, unloading, marksmanship, common stoppages, and productive practice.
Start here if: you are new to pistols, returning after time away, or rebuilding your foundation.
Rifle Fundamentals
Safe operation, equipment setup, ready positions, marksmanship, target transitions, and positional work.
Start here if: you are new to the rifle or plan to attend Intermediate Rifle.
Private Instruction & Skills Assessment
Focused work for a specific problem, course preparation, a weak foundation, or placement in the OSS training progression.
Scheduling: available by request after a short conversation about your experience and goals.
Development
Make the skill hold up.
Students work against clear standards while time, movement, and problem solving increase.
Intermediate Pistol
Improve efficiency while adding movement, stronger manipulations, and changing shooting problems.
Prerequisite: Pistol Fundamentals or demonstrated equivalent proficiency.
Intermediate Rifle
Add movement, alternate positions, available cover, manipulations, and shooting problems.
Prerequisite: Rifle Fundamentals or demonstrated equivalent proficiency.
Application
Put the pieces together.
Applied courses require students to manage equipment, movement, information, and decisions while maintaining the fundamentals.
Home Defense & Structure Movement
Family planning, communication, barricade and evacuation decisions, angles, thresholds, and movement when staying in place is no longer the best option.
Prerequisite: Intermediate Pistol, Intermediate Rifle, or an approved private assessment.
Integrated Rifle & Pistol: Gunfighter
Manage both weapons while moving and solving problems. Standards expose weak transitions, poor setup, and gaps in control.
Prerequisite: Intermediate Pistol and Intermediate Rifle, or demonstrated equivalent proficiency with both platforms.
Precision
Build a repeatable process.
Precision shooting makes inconsistency obvious. Students learn the rifle, the data, and the conditions that affect the shot.
Long-Gun Precision
Rifle and optic setup, data collection, positions, environmental considerations, and responsible precision shooting.
Prerequisite: safe rifle handling and an appropriately configured rifle and optic.
Citizen medical readiness
Be useful before help arrives.
Progress from basic lifesaving skills to realistic civilian casualty care. Courses are designed for families, armed citizens, churches, workplaces, ranges, rural properties, and community groups.
Course pricing
Open-enrollment prices are per student. The scheduled course listing controls the final price, duration, location, certification, and equipment requirements. Private-group prices are starting rates and may change with travel, venue costs, certification cards, consumable supplies, group size, or additional instructors.
Foundation and family
Learn the skills most likely to be needed.
These courses cover immediate action, common medical emergencies, family planning, and recognized CPR or first-aid certification when the scheduled instructor and program support it.
Bleeding Control Fundamentals
Recognize life-threatening bleeding and practice direct pressure, wound packing, tourniquet application, basic casualty movement, and a clear EMS handoff.
Best for: citizens, families, churches, businesses, coaches, and community groups.
First Aid, CPR & AED
CPR and AED skills combined with practical first aid for sudden illness, common injuries, choking, bleeding, burns, and other emergencies.
Course scope: adult, pediatric, or workplace requirements are identified in the scheduled course listing.
Family Medical Readiness
Build a household response plan while learning patient assessment, bleeding control, choking response, burns, fractures, emergency communication, medical-kit setup, and preparation for EMS arrival.
Best for: families, private groups, rural households, and responsible citizens who want a broad readiness foundation.
Applied civilian trauma
Use a casualty-care system under pressure.
These courses adapt proven casualty-care priorities to civilian emergencies while remaining within non-invasive civilian skills. Students progress from individual techniques to decisions, movement, communication, and scenarios.
Citizen Trauma Response
A one-day trauma course covering rapid casualty assessment, severe bleeding, wound packing, tourniquets, pressure dressings, chest-injury recognition and chest-seal use, shock and hypothermia prevention, casualty movement, IFAK setup, communication, and practical scenarios.
Best for: armed citizens, security volunteers, hunters, instructors, and anyone who wants more than a basic bleeding-control class.
Applied Citizen Casualty Care
A two-day, scenario-driven course using MARCH-based casualty priorities adapted for civilian emergencies. Students practice self-aid and buddy aid, casualty assessment, bleeding control, airway positioning, chest-seal application, shock and hypothermia prevention, movement, communication, multiple-casualty prioritization, and sustained problem solving.
Prerequisite: Citizen Trauma Response or approved equivalent. This is an OSS civilian program and is not TCCC or TECC certification.
What Applied Citizen Casualty Care is—and is not
The course provides a civilian casualty-care framework resembling the organization and decision-making found in tactical medicine, but it is not advertised as TCCC certification. Civilian courses do not include invasive procedures such as needle decompression, surgical airways, IV or IO access, prescription medications, or paramedic-level interventions.
Rural and organizational readiness
Prepare for distance, difficult access, and team response.
These offerings are built around the property, facility, equipment, response time, and people who will actually be present when an emergency occurs.
Rural & Outdoor Medical Readiness
Prepare for delayed response and difficult access through remote communication, environmental emergencies, fractures and splinting, casualty movement, limited equipment, and vehicle, ATV, or animal-related incidents.
Best for: ranchers, farmers, hunters, outdoor groups, remote workers, and rural families.
Private and organizational medical training
Pediatric emphasis, focused skills labs, range response, church or workplace readiness, medical-team development, and rural property workshops remain available as custom private or group work rather than separate public course listings.
